Applications are invited for a postdoctoral research position to work with Professor Fred Antson on a Wellcome Trust funded project “Structure and mechanism of multicomponent protein-nucleic acid assemblies”. The aim of the project is to investigate the molecular mechanism of DNA translocation by molecular motors present in several viruses. The project will focus on investigating protein-protein and protein-nucleic acid interactions using molecular biology, biochemical and biophysical techniques, including X-ray Crystallography.
Applicants are expected to have a PhD level qualification in structural biology or biochemical & biophysical analysis of molecular motors.
The post is available from February 2013, or as soon as possible thereafter, for three years on a full time basis. Salary will be in the range of £29,541 - £36,298 per year.
