The Babraham Institute is a charity which is world renowned for its research in life sciences to enhance lives and improve wellbeing.

We are looking for a highly motivated and forward-thinking Laboratory Manager with postdoctoral or equivalent research (ideally in epigenetics, stem cells, developmental biology) and administrative experience and interests to assist Professor Wolf Reik with running a well-funded research lab of approximately 20 scientists.

Professor Wolf Reik has recently taken on the job of Acting Director of the Babraham Institute, and will require support with running his science team. The job holder would be responsible for helping with budget organisation, report, grant, paper, PhD theses and patent writing, thus enabling the lab leader to retain a significant level of contact time with students and postdocs. You should be interested in helping the science in the lab and careers of students and postdocs thrive.

The ideal candidate must have a PhD (or equivalent experience) in biological sciences and experience in writing scientific papers and reports as well as managing grant applications to the highest standards would be highly desirable. Effective interpersonal skills, and the ability to be flexible and handle multiple responsibilities and tasks will be essential for this role.

This is a limited term appointment with funding for this post expected to be available for a period of two years in the first instance.
