This post-doc position requires working in Biosafety Level 2+ setting to engineer human and simian immunodeficiency virus (HIV and SIV) for infecting experimental animal models, such as rodent or non-human primates.

Qualifications:

Experience in BSL2/+ lab setting and training in molecular virology is a must. This candidate would genetically engineer HIV and SIV using molecular cloning approaches for viral inoculation in animal models. In vivo imaging techniques will be used to visualize viral infection and persistence, but knowledge in in vivo imaging techniques is not required.
