University Grade 7: £29,837 – £36,661 p.a.

Applications are invited for a postdoctoral position in a research programme funded by the Wellcome Trust at the Weatherall Institute of Molecular Medicine (WIMM), to discover the effect of inhibiting oncogenic protein-protein interaction on cancer cells.

The project will focus on using antibody fragments as drug surrogates to inhibit intracellular protein-protein interactions and to study the transcriptional consequences. In particular, the work will involve implementing innovative strategies to use of nanoparticles as delivery vehicles for vectors expressing inhibitory antibody fragments.

Candidates must have a PhD in medicinal chemistry or similar and experience with synthesis and characterization of various nanoparticle formulations. Experience with particle modification, in particular antibody coupling and with tissue culture methods is essential. Experience with molecular cloning of complex constructs and in vivo work are desirable.
