法国国家科学研究中心果蝇遗传学博士后职位
Description
Control of genome integrity plays a critical role in the maintenance of cellular homeostasis. It is now widely believed that not only genetic mutations but also chromatin perturbations modify genome equilibrium. Alterations of epigenetic programs can lead to numerous human diseases, and particularly cancer. The project, proposed here, is to address in vivo functions of methyltransferase PR-Set7-dependent pathway and to determine how deregulation of this epigenetic pathway, so frequently observed in cancers, could contribute to the onset and/or the development of cancer cells. This project using principally, Drosophila, as a model organism combines cell biology (Immunostaining and FISH), genetics (screens) and molecular biology (ChIP-Seq, Transcriptome analysis).
Qualifications
The candidate must have a PhD degree in Molecular and Cellular genetics.
We are looking for a highly motivated postdoctoral research fellow to lead a project focused on PR-Set7 dependent pathways in Drosophila. Candidates with a background in molecular and cell biology, as well as those experienced in Drosophila genetics are encouraged to apply. Knowledge on bioinformatics will be positively considered.
Salary
Funding is provided for two years by a grant available from March 2014.
Location
Montpellier is a nice city located in the south of France, close by Mediterranean Sea. Its sunny climate, its well-preserved historical environment and its large number of universities, places this city in the first rank of attractiveness in France.
