POSTDOCTORAL RESEARCH SCIENTIST: Applications are invited for a postdoctoral position with secure funding for a minimum of 2 years. The project involves differentiation of patient-derived iPS cells into neurons and neuronal culture assays. Candidates must have experience in neuronal cell culture and differentiating neurons from iPS cells. Knowledge in lentiviral transduction and stereotactical injections in rodents is a plus but not necessary.
My lab studies mechanisms of lesion evolution and of neurodegeneration in multiple sclerosis. For this, we use divergent approaches such iPSC derived, patient-specific neuronal cultures, advanced histopathological analysis of MS autopsy tissue (we maintain a sizeable brain bank in our laboratory), ultra-highfield MRI imaging of MS patients and autopsy tissue, modeling of inflammatory demyelination in rodents.
