英国伦敦大学学院招聘行为神经科学博士后
UCL Division of Biosciences
Research Department of Cell and Developmental Biology
Research Associate: Behavioural Neuroscience
The appointment will be full time on UCL Grade 7. The salary range will be £32,375 to £34,165 per annum, inclusive of London Allowance.
A Research Associate (postdoctoral researcher) is required to work in the lab of Dr Caswell Barry carrying out research into the neurophysiological basis of memory – in particular the processes associated with the formation and recall of spatial memories. The research will involve single unit recording from the hippocampal formation and neocortex of rodents performing memory tasks. Other techniques being used in the lab, and which may become relevant to this project, include rodent virtual reality and optogenetic manipulations.
Appointment on Grade 7 is dependent upon having been awarded a PhD; if this is not the case the initial appointment will be at Research Assistant Grade 6 (salary £29,881 per annum, inclusive of London Allowance) with payment at Grade 7 being backdated to the date of final submission of the PhD thesis.
The post is funded for 36 months from 1st March 2014 until 28th February 2017 – though there is a degree of flexibility in the start date.
Candidates must have a PhD or be close to submission of a PhD with experience of single unit recording, ideally in behaving rodents. Knowledge of programming, extracellular physiology, neural signal analysis, optogenetic techniques or computational modelling would be advantageous.
