TITLE OF POST: Post Doctoral Researcher – Mathematical Modelling
LOCATION: Limerick
REPORTS TO: Project Leader
CONTRACT TYPE: Specific Purpose
SALARY: €37,750 – €46,225 p.a. (maximum starting salary: €37,750 p.a.)

JOB DESCRIPTION

QUALIFICATIONS:

PhD (attained, or soon to be attained) in relevant area (applied mathematics, engineering, or related discipline).

OVERALL PURPOSE OF THE JOB:

The successful candidate will be based in MACSI group at the University of Limerick, and will be responsible for liaising between MACSI and the engineering and economics partners within the Strategic Research Cluster “Sustainable Electrical Energy Systems”. He/she will take responsibility for mathematical modelling tasks of mutual interest to MACSI and SRC partners.

Essential:
• PhD (attained, or soon to be attained) in relevant area (applied mathematics, engineering, or related discipline)
• Experience of mathematical modeling for applied problems.
• Strong analytical and computational skills.

Desirable:
• Record of publication in international journals.
• Experience of postdoctoral research in a relevant area.
• Experience of collaboration with experimentalists and/or industry.
• Experience in writing successful research funding applications
• Good interpersonal and project management skills.
