Applications are invited for a postdoctoral position in the Emmy Noether research group of Dr. Jan-Henning Klusmann at the Department of Pediatric Hematology and Oncology, Medical School Hannover, Germany, to establish a humanized xenograft mouse model for pediatric acute myeloid leukemia (AML). The laboratory is located in the recently founded Pediatric Research Center, which provides modern and inspiring working environment.

The humanized mouse model should help to examine the effects of selective drugs that target deregulated key pathways in AML. Additionally, the in vivo model system should be used to study the full complexity and heterogeneity of the human disease. This technology will be optimized to manipulate novel putative oncogenes or tumor suppressors (gain- and loss-of-function studies), which we identified by whole exome sequencing, global expression profiles or RNAi screening.

Applicants must hold a Ph.D. or Dr. rer. nat in the field of cancer biology, cell biology, molecular biology or biomedicine.

Essential skills:
You are enthusiastic, proactive, creative and you have a demonstrated track record of innovative scientific publications. Extensive experience with tissue culture, molecular biology, lentiviral transduction methods and animal experimentation is highly preferred.

Benefits
We offer an initial contract for two years, with the option of an extension up to 5 years. It is a full-time position. You will be paid based on personal qualifications and requirements according to the agreement of the “Tarifgemeinschaft der Länder” (TvL-E13).
