The Chair for Dependable Nano Computing (CDNC) at Karlsruhe Institute of Technology (KIT), Germany invites applications for a position of a Postdoctoral Research Scientist in the area of “Computer Architectures based on Emerging Non-volatile Memories”

The envisioned multidisciplinary project investigates novel hybrid computer architecture explorations taking advantage of non-volatile Spin Transfer Torque Magnetoresistive random-access memory (STT-MRAM). The project will include a tape-out of a test memory chip based on this technology, together with the other partners in this European Project.

The applicants should have earned a Ph.D. degree in the areas of Computer Science or Electrical Engineering at the time of appointment. Research experience and strong background in VLSI circuit design, particularly experience with memory design, as well as advanced computer architectures are desirable. Experience with the complete digital design and tape-out flow is favorable.

Suitable candidates must posses a strong willingness for research exploration, independence, self-learning, creativity, teamwork and communication skills as well as the willingness in the preparation of research proposals. Strong verbal and written skills in English are required.

The duration of this position is three years. The research position provides a unique opportunity to collaborate with various international labs in the scope of a European project.
