We are looking for a motivated scientist to study the biology of human cytotoxic lymphocytes using molecular, biochemical, and single molecule imaging strategies.

We are applying live cell imaging and biophysical approaches to study the signaling and vesicular traffic at the immunological synapses (Liu, et al., Immunity 31, 99-109, 2009; Liu, et al., Immunity 36, 600-11, 2012.) and human lymphocyte dysfunction in chronic infectious diseases. All applicants with experience in molecular biology, human immunology, and imaging are encouraged to apply. A candidate with a recently awarded Ph.D. with knowledge of Matlab is desirable.

This post-doctoral fellowship will provide the opportunity to apply cutting-edge single molecule imaging techniques in live cells in combination with planar lipid bilayer systems to study the biology of cytotoxic lymphocytes. Trainees will have access to all of the resources of the newly created Center for Human Immunobiology at Texas Children’s Hospital including a gated stimulated-emission depletion super-resolution, total-internal reflection fluorescence, high speed spinning disc confocal microscopes, flow cytometry analyzer, sorter, and Amnis imaging cytometer. Baylor College of Medicine is a highly academic environment located at the vibrant Texas Medical Center in Houston, Texas.
