The J. Craig Venter Institute (“JCVI”), a not-for-profit research institute dedicated to the advancement of the science of genomics is seeking a Post Doctoral Fellow to join our Plant Genomics group. This Post Doctoral Fellow position combines plant molecular biology and bioinformatics. This position requires proven experience in plant molecular biology plus familiarity with phylogenomics and gene family analysis. The Post Doctoral Fellow will be responsible for generating high resolution maps using genotyping by sequencing and new RNA-seq data from cytoplasmic RNA. He/she will assist in Medicago genome annotation using a gene family guided approach.
Successful candidates will have a Ph.D. in Plant Biology; familiarity with Medicago truncatula as a model organism is preferred.
