We are recruiting a talented and motivated postdoctoral trainee. The Grumbach lab is affiliated with the Iowa City VA Medical Center and located at the University of Iowa that boasts a highly interactive and multidisciplinary faculty in cardiovascular research. The University of Iowa has a long track record of excellence in cardiovascular research. Numerous opportunities for cutting-edge, innovative collaborations exist in this rich scientific environment. The current interests of the lab are the regulation of smooth muscle proliferation in neointima formation and blood pressure regulation by calcium-/calmodulin-dependent kinases.

Candidates with a PhD in Biology, Biochemistry, or Pharmacology, or a closely related field should apply. Experience with the following is important: biochemistry and molecular biology, imaging experience, primary vascular cell and tissue culture, in vivo analysis of small mammals, and functional studies of intact blood vessels. The successful candidate would continue to pursue projects that have yielded promising preliminary data. Previous experience in vascular biology is desired. Excellent spoken and written English is required. This position is available on June or July 1.
