瑞士巴塞尔大学生物光学博士后职位

The Department of Biomedicine (DBM) unites the biomedical laboratory research of the Faculty of Medicine and represents a joint venture of the University Basel, the University Hospital Basel and the University Children’s Hospital Basel. At present, the Department comprises 59 research groups, accommodated in five different laboratory locations.

From January 1, 2012 (or by arrangement) we are looking for a
Bio-Optics Specialist (75%)
to support various research groups using the light microscope facility (epifluorescent and confocal microscopes) at the DBM.

Job description:

• Maintenance of departmental fluorescent, confocal and light microscopes.
• Training of personnel (PhD students and postdocs) using the facility
• Weekly check-ups and updates
• Technical support for users (e.g. laser use, image and data acquisition, analysis)
• Organization and maintenance of internal databases

We are looking for:

• The successful candidate has experience in cell biology or physiology research, or closely related fields.
• Strong background in working with confocal microscopes, live imaging and various imaging softwares.
• Excellent skills in microscopy and IT.
• The applicant should have good communication skills and enjoy working in a dynamic team and training graduate students and postdocs.
