An NIH funded organic synthetic/radiochemistry Postdoctoral position available immediately. A potential candidate should be an energetic, highly motivated PhD in organic synthetic chemistry. Candidate will focus on small organic molecular synthesis of analogues for brain disorders and other diseases. He/she needs to conduct the asymmetric synthesis heteroaromatic analogues to obtain the corresponding enantiomerically pure isomers from racemic mixtures. Candidate has to have experiences on HPLC, MIR, IR, MS and other spectrometric identification of organic compounds.
The candidate will receive training for conducting the radiosynthesis of potential PET imaging probes and validating new PET probes in vitro and vivo. The candidate will write manuscripts for publication and progress reports to PI. The successful candidate will have opportunity to access to state-of-the-art lab equipment and departmental core facilities, as well as to the great research community in one of the top medical schools in the USA.
Qualifications: Ph.D. in organic synthetic chemistry with strong organic synthetic bench work experience; good communication and personnel skills; willing to conduct radiosynthesis of PET imaging probes.
