A postdoctoral position is available in the Weaver laboratory at the University of Wisconsin-Madison to investigate the consequences of chromosome missegregation during mitosis. The Weaver laboratory uses cell biology, molecular biology, microscopy, genetics, and biochemistry to study mitosis, the mitotic checkpoint and how defects in these processes affect tumor initiation, progression, and response to chemotherapy.
Candidates should have a Ph.D. in cell and molecular biology, cancer biology, biochemistry or a related field and a strong record of publication in peer-reviewed journals. Experience with tissue culture is required. Preference will be given to individuals with experience in fluorescence microscopy and standard cellular and molecular biology techniques including cloning, PCR, qRT-PCR, immunoblotting, immunoprecipitation, siRNA, etc. Candidates should also have excellent oral and written communication skills and be willing to collaborate with other researchers.
