Postdoctoral (or equivalent) scientist: Protein biochemist
Oxford Nanopore is seeking a scientist qualified to PhD level with particular expertise on in vitro and in vivo protein expression, protein refolding and associated purification techniques. This candidate will join our growing nanopore chemistry team in a hands-on, laboratory based position.
The primary responsibility for this role will be to express and purify membrane proteins. As a subject matter expert you will be expected to contribute in creative and critical thinking, advising and guiding others within the team. Selected candidates will also be working in de novo protein design projects and relevant experience in this area will be an added advantage.
Oxford Nanopore’s highly interdisciplinary environment means that you will seek to engage with members of the company in other disciplines including our molecular modelling team. Excellent communication skills are required to meet and manage the requirements of other groups both upstream and downstream.
We welcome applications from scientists with excellent academic credentials in a relevant discipline (Biochemistry, Molecular Biology, Chemical Biology etc.) The position would most suit candidates with some industrial experience.
