THE BREAKTHROUGH TOBY ROBINS BREAST CANCER RESEARCH CENTRE
AT THE INSTITUTE OF CANCER RESEARCH, CHELSEA, LONDON
The Breakthrough Breast Cancer Research Centre is the first centre in the UK entirely devoted to breast cancer research. Our goal is to advance research into the causes, diagnosis and treatment of breast cancer. We are located in new laboratory space with excellent core facilities and funding. We currently have a vacancy for a Scientific Officer, which is being funded by Breast Cancer Campaign, in our Functional Genomics Laboratory, led by Dr. Rachael Natrajan.
Scientific Officer
The objective of this post will be to undertake research for a project on the functional validation of novel mutations and fusion genes identified by next generation sequencing in breast cancer.
Applicants should possess a BSc. (or equivalent) in molecular biology or cell biology with knowledge of cell culture techniques. Applicants must have a background in cell & molecular biology. Experience in immunofluorescence, confocal microscopy, DNA cloning and RNAi screens would be an advantage.
Appointment will be on a Fixed Term Contract for 3 years in the first instance, with a starting salary of £23,000 – £24,733 p.a. inclusive.
