The activity is part of the Work Package 3 of EU Project MALICIA coordinated by LENS.
The aim is to explore the transfer of the quantum state of light to collective atomic excitations and vice versa by working with cold and ultra-cold atomic samples, studying their properties reducing down the temperature all the way to the condensation limit.
The candidate will study experimentally methods to increase the efficiency of information transfer between the radiation and the atomic ensemble. He/she will also work on a tomographic method for the characterization of atomic quantum states.
