A position of Postdoctoral Fellow or Research Associate is available in the Department of Cell Biology and Neuroscience (CBN) at Rutgers University, Piscataway, NJ.
Our research team is dedicated to studying the molecular machinery that controls the development and function of the auditory sensory epithelium, a specialized region of the inner ear that transduces sound. We use a combination of genetic, biochemical, and electrophysiological approaches to define the signaling pathways that mediate the development of sensory hair cells in the epithelium and the molecular defects that lead to hearing loss. Candidates with strong background in biochemistry, genetics, molecular biology, or neuroscience are encouraged to apply. A background or strong interest in mouse molecular genetics and microscope imaging would be advantageous. The successful applicant will join and benefit greatly from state of the art facilities for electrophysiology, confocal imaging, and electron microscopy as well as interactions with outstanding researchers within and outside of the department.
