Postdoctoral Position in Mouse Genetics and Cancer Genetics

A postdoctoral position is available immediately in the UH Cancer Center at the New Jersey Medical School, UMDNJ in Newark, New Jersey. The successful candidate will investigate how genetic alterations in the Rb/E2F pathway and other tumor suppressor/oncogenic pathways impact on normal development as well as abnormal cell growth or cancer. We are using both in vitro cell or tissue culture systems and in vivo mouse models to delineate various signaling networks in several model systems, including the hematopoietic system, the prostate glands, and the mammary glands.

Qualifications: Recent Ph.D. and/or M.D. with research strength in one or more of the following areas: genetics, cell and molecular biology, biochemistry, cancer biology/genetics; proven records in research in the related fields; self-motivated; willing to learn and to collaborate; excellent technical and communication skills; prior experience with developing/using mouse models is preferred but not required.

The Cancer Center consists of three clinical floors and four research floors, providing outstanding resources in a stimulating and interactive research environment.
