We offer a postdoctoral research position in the Cell Signaling Research Group headed by Dr. Francesc Posas and Dr. Eulàlia de Nadal at the Pompeu Fabra University, Barcelona, Spain. Our research projects are dedicated to understand how cells detect and respond to environmental changes. We have focused our studies in the characterization of the osmostress signal transduction pathways, especially those controlled by MAP kinases of the Hog1/p38 family, also known as the stress activated MAP kinases (SAPK). Using the S. cerevisiae yeast as a model organism as well as superior eukaryotic cells, we analyze the molecular mechanisms of cells to respond to an extracellular stimulus and which are the generated adaptation responses.

Candidate Requirements:
Self-motivated and career-oriented Ph.D. It is an essential requirement to have strong background in yeast cell biology and genetics and in molecular biology.
She/he should be fluent in English and have an interactive personality.
