A Postdoctoral Fellow position in Host-Pathogen Interaction, Infection/Inflammation Biology is available in the Conway Institute, School of Medicine & Medical Science, University College Dublin, Ireland.
Our research covers different facets of infection, inflammatory injury and innate immune response. The particular focus of this position is on TLR/NLR regulatory networks governed by GTPase-protein kinase networks, and their role in phagocytosis, innate immune signaling and pathogenesis. The methods include biochemical analysis of signaling, advanced microscopy, analysis of novel transgenic mouse models, primary immune cell isolation and analysis, and bacterial infection.
We are looking for a Postdoctoral Fellow with a background in innate immunity, phagocyte biology, animal models and some microbiology. Expertise in advanced microscopy is highly desirable. Applicants must hold a PhD degree before starting the fellowship and should have at least one publication as first author. The fellowship will commence in fall 2011 and will be supported for three years. Only candidates with maximal one year of postdoctoral experience are eligible to apply.
