Postdoctoral position available in the Department of Physiology, Faculty of Medicine at the University of Santiago de Compostela, Spain to investigate mechanisms involved in obesity. This position under the direction of Dr. Ruben Nogueiras, is available to study how the central nervous system controls peripheral energy metabolism. The project involves in vivo genetically-modified mice, stereotactic surgery, or hyperinsulinemic-euglycemic clamps. The main objective will be to identify new central signals that might open new avenues for the treatment of obesity and its associated disorders.

The candidate must have a PhD degree and be highly motivated and enthusiastic, with expertise in basic molecular biology/ biochemical techniques and prior experience working with mouse models. Funding is available for a minimum of 1 year, and may be extended upon mutual agreement.
