Postdoctoral Scientist
Division of Molecular Structure

Project title: Structural and functional characterisation of polycomb complexes

We are offering a 3-year postdoctoral position to work on the structural and functional characterisation of polycomb complexes. The work will involve a combination of molecular biology, biochemistry, biophysics and structural techniques to dissect the mechanisms by which polycomb complexes confer transcriptional repression of cell fate determination genes.

A relevant PhD or to be in the final stages of completing a PhD in molecular biology, biochemistry, or cell biology is required for this role.

Candidates should have a background in chromatin biology and experience in protein production for structural studies. An established knowledge of nucleosome reconstitution and/or RNA re-folding for structural studies would be highly advantageous.

This is a 3 year MRC-funded Career Development Fellowship (CDF) which is a training and development position for junior post-doctoral scientists. The position would be based in the laboratory of Steven Gamblin in the Division of Molecular Structure at the MRC National Institute for Medical Research, London.

Salary range is from £27,513 per annum inclusive of London Allowance. MRC final salary Pension Scheme is available.
