Postdoctoral Scientist
£26,022 to £28,178 per annum
Applications are invited for a postdoctoral scientist in the group of Dr Anne Bertolotti to work on an ongoing programme aimed at dissecting the mechanisms underlying the prion-like propagation of mutant SOD1 misfolding from cell to cell (see Munch and Bertolotti, 2010, J Mol Biol, 399, 512-25; Munch et al., 2011, Proc Natl Acad Sci U S A, 108, 3548-53; Munch and Bertolotti, 2011, Cell Cycle, 10; Tsaytler et al., 2011, Science, 332, 91-4; and also Wiseman and Kelly, 2011, Science, 332, 44-5).
Candidates should have a PhD and experience in Cell Biology, Biochemistry or a related field with relevant publications (or due to complete doctoral studies within 6 months of applying).
The Laboratory of Molecular Biology provides a thriving environment for research in neuroscience and has state-of-the-art equipment.

The successful candidate will be awarded an MRC Career Development Fellowship until 30th June 2014. This is a training and development position for a postdoctoral scientist who has recently completed doctoral studies or is moving into a new research discipline.
Your salary will be supported by 30 days annual leave entitlement, an optional MRC final salary pension scheme and excellent on-site sports and social facilities.
