*Description: *We are seeking highly motivated individuals for postdoctoral positions in the department of Materials Science & Engineering at Iowa State University, Ames, IA.

We are interested in using non-linear microscopy to probe the foreign body response to implanted biomaterials. One of the final steps in the foreign body response is fibrosis, or deposition of collagen. We aim to develop methods for characterizing the fibrotic response to polymers in vivo. Through a fundamental understanding of what polymer properties govern fibrosis outcomes, we will be able to rationally design polymers for use in biomedical devices. *Qualification: *Applicants must possess a Ph.D. degree in Physics, Biophysics, Chemistry, or a relevant field. Demonstrated ability to work in collaborative environments is essential. Individuals with experience in single-molecule detection instrumentation or non-linear ultrafast laser optics are encouraged to apply.
