Job Description
A post-doctoral position is available to develop small molecules targeting RNA with particular emphasis on developing new drugs against triplet repeating disorders including myotonic muscular dystrophy (DM) and Huntington’s disease (HD). Each of these disorders is mediated by RNA and they represent a current unmet medical need. Research centered on targeting these RNA will provide insights into developing DM and HD therapeutics and how to target other RNA-mediated diseases. You will join a dedicated team of graduate and postdoctoral researchers to design, synthesize, and test new lead ligands that target these RNAs using rational and modular assembly strategies.
Requirements: PhD in a related scientific discipline and demonstrated and published experience in medicinal chemistry, nucleic acids chemistry, and/or chemical biology is required. In addition, must have a willingness to work effectively as part of a team to complete studies that range from in vitro testing to application in animal models and will also be able to manage multiple projects simultaneously. Candidates with experience in nucleic acids and chemical synthesis are strongly preferred.
