I have current funding to support a postdoctoral fellow working in the area of microbial pathogenesis. Specifically my laboratory studies Gram-positive bacterial pathogens, such as Streptococcus, Staphylococcus, and Bacillus anthracis, and the molecular mechanisms by which they interact with host cells in order to cause disease. Competitive applicants will be skilled in molecular and microbiological techniques including bacterial and cell culture. Prior experience working with animal models of infection is preferred but not absolutely required. Applicants must be highly motivated and work well independently as well as with others, including undergraduate and graduate students.
