Job Description
The James Graham Brown Cancer Center at the University of Louisville invites applications for a post-doctoral fellow position in a new laboratory that seeks to understand the molecular biology of cancer initiation, cancer progression and cancer regression following therapeutic interventions. The current research interests of the lab are to use mouse models of human cancer to gain insight into cancer progression and to use these models to develop novel therapeutic strategies to be used in patients. The applicant will be expected to conduct high level research in the area of molecular cancer biology, which includes combining cell culture, molecular biology, biochemistry and animal models of human cancer. Experience with mouse models is required and the applicant must be an expert in molecular biology techniques. Applicant must be a self motivated individual that can not only conduct guided experimentation, but also extend and expand current avenues of investigation. Applicant will also be expected to analyze and present the data generated from his or her work at various venues, including lab meetings and national/international conferences. Applicant must be less than three years of postdoctoral training. Please include a cover letter with application describing past experience and future goals.

Minimum Qualifications: PhD, MD or DVM and 0 to 3 years of related experience are required.

Preferred Qualifications: Applicant must have completed his or her training (M.D., Ph.D. or equivalent) in an area of biology that is relevant to the position. Applicant must be capable of conducting independent experimentation, as well as sufficiently analyzing the resulting data. Applicant must also be capable of interacting productively with a research group.
