Job Description
A post-doctoral research position is available at the University of Michigan beginning October 1, 2011, to work in the development of anti-biofilm coatings for dental unit waterlines and biomedical devices. This project involves the design and synthesis of polymer thin films and evaluation of biofilm formation on the coatings. The person appointed will be based in Department of Biologic and Materials Sciences, School of Dentistry and will work under the supervision of Professor Kenichi Kuroda. We are seeking an outstanding individual with a Ph.D. in chemistry, engineering, or a related discipline with prior experience in polymer synthesis, polymer coatings, and surface characterization. Preference will be given to applicants with a strong background in surface chemistry and polymer chemistry in biomaterials. Enthusiasm for top-quality research and the ability to work in a multidisciplinary team will be highly appreciated. Compensation will be commensurate with qualifications.
