Competence Centre for Biorefining and Bioenergy (CCBB) (www.ccbb.ie)

CRANN& School of Physics, Trinity College Dublin invites applications for a *post-doctoral position for 1 year *in the area of separations/ membrane filtrations of fermentation broths and recovery of valuable chemicals. This project will involve liaison with national, international and industry collaborators, bench research and reporting. To this end, good inter-personal, written communication and networking skills are essential. This project will involve amongst other topics, production of biofules and bioenergy from grass based biorefinery. The research could include interaction with other partners in the areas of microbiology and fermentation technologies. The successful candidate has an exciting opportunity to work with interdisciplinary research group and industrial related projects in bio refinery-bio energy and materials science environment.

PhD level candidates are sought with a suitable background in Materials Science/Chemical Engineering/Chemistry with strong emphasis on broad range of separation technologies in particular membrane technologies. The candidates must have a strong desire and motivation to conduct independent and innovative research, and must have excellent oral and written communication skills. Candidates with previous experience in recovery of valuable compounds from biorefinery process are particularly encouraged to apply.

*Gross Salary range is € 37,750 to €38,860 *

Appointment on range will commensurate with qualification and experience.
