Postdoctoral Fellow/ Research Scientist (Bioinformatics)

Responsibilities
An opportunity to work in a multidisciplinary team of biologists, engineers, clinicians and epidemiologists focusing on applied research and immediate industrial and clinical applications in systems oncology. The RS/A will be responsible for developing tools and methods to analyze genomics/transcriptomic/proteomic data, particularly in terms of single cell profiling, where data will be generated by the group. These methods are applied towards key outcomes such as selection of key biomarker targets.

As an RS/A, he/she will contribute to experimental design, pathway analysis to elicit biologic mechanisms, preparation of manuscripts and contribute data for grant proposals.

Requirements
Applicants should have a PhD or MSc degree in Computer Science or relevant discipline with a focus on Computational Biology and/or Bioinformatics, with expertise in -omics analysis.

Strengths in R/Bioconductor or Matlab, and scripting languages e.g. Perl, Python.

Familiarity with relational databases, with a good knowledge of statistics.

Familiarity with web application technologies and development.

Candidates with at least 1-2 years of work or related research experience are preferred.

Experience with molecular biology, genetics or cancer research would be very useful.

Experience in additional programming languages e.g. Java, C++ would be desirable.
