The Section of Comparative Medicine at Yale University School of Medicine invites applications for a one-year postdoctoral fellow position under the guidance of the PI in his laboratory. The research will focus on the mechanisms that regulate fat mass in vivo. In particular, the post-graduate fellow will study the cellular mechanisms of fat mass increase at the onset of obesity. The training will teach about energy metabolism, stem cell biology and state-of-the-art investigative and analytic approaches. You will become proficient at a number of the techniques employed in my research and familiarize yourself with the goals and theories of the project with which you will be involved. You will learn to perform research experiments related to the research of energy metabolism and troubleshoot assays if necessary. In addition you will learn to collect, organize and analyze data generated from these experiments, maintain detailed records of the research and maintain rodent colony including genotype all DNA samples from various strains of mice. This complete training will help prepare you for the future. We will continuously discuss progress on the project
