The group of Prof. Bodo Grimbacher at the CCI Freiburg is recruiting a postdoctoral fellow. His group works on the identification and molecular characterization of inherited immune deficiencies. Methods range from whole exome sequencing and SNP-chip mapping to Sanger-Sequencing, qPCR, Northern, and Western blotting.
Current projects include but are not limited to the molecular characterization of a novel defect leading to antibody deficiency and autoimmunity, a novel defect of the hyper-IgE syndrome which shall lead to insights into the regulation of IgE, and the search for novel defects causing the susceptibility to fungal infections. The aim of Prof. Grimbacher’s group is to better understand the role of IgA, the genetic and epigenetic regulation of IgE, and the etiology and pathological relevance of Th17 cells in the host defense to candida.
The initial contract runs for approx. 2 years, an extension may be possible.
