Overview:
The Department of Mechanical Engineering at the University of Minnesota - Twin Cities is inviting applications for postdoctoral research associates. The postdoctoral researcher will conduct research in the nanomaterial –based energy harvesting and application. The candidate is expected to assist with publication of research results in leading disciplinary journals and secure extramural funding. The positions will remain open until filled.
Qualifications:
• Extensive background in the synthesis, characterization and device fabrication of nanomaterials
• Extensive background in materials characterization, including experience in electron microscopy (SEM and TEM), X-ray diffraction, and electrical measurement
• Ability to think creatively and perform research duties
• Experience with independently drafting research papers and supervising graduate students
• Extensive knowledge of piezoelectric materials and cleanroom experience are preferred
Job Duties:
• Synthesis, characterization, functionalization and device integration of nanomaterials
• Design and measurement of electronic devices.
• Advise graduate students
• Independently drafting research papers, research reports to funding agencies
