Location: Sanford-Burnham Medical Research Institute, Orlando, Florida. Sanford-Burnham Medical Research Institute is an independent, not-for-profit biomedical research institution dedicated to advancing the frontiers of scientific knowledge in life sciences and medicine and providing the foundation for tomorrow’s innovative therapies. We are located at Lake Nona Medical City adjacent to University of Central Florida Medical School, M.D. Anderson Cancer Center Research, University of Florida School of Pharmacy, and multiple hospitals.
Research Focus is transcription and epigenetics: We are delineating specific mechanisms of transcription control significant for cardiovascular disease and diabetes. Tools of molecular biology, biochemistry and biophysics are being implemented to characterize proteins, peptides, nucleic acids or small molecules.
Duties and Responsibilities: The primary responsibilities will be to acquire data and assist with caring for an 800 MHz Bruker spectrometer equipped with a cryoprobe. To be able to analyze and interpret NMR-based strategies that could be complemented by other available methodologies such as MALDI-TOF mass spectrometry, surface Plasmon resonance, isothermal titration calorimetry, fluorescence and circular Dichroism spectroscopy or X-ray crystallography.
The successful candidate will have a Ph.D. and have demonstrated proficiency and experience in solution NMR spectroscopy of proteins. Applicants should forward C.V. and list of two-three references to Stephanie Dickstein at sdickstein@sanfordburnham.org.
