Job Title: Postdoctoral Position-Neural Circuit Development in C. elegans
Job Number: 4009440
Date Posted: 06/15/2011
Job Description
A postdoctoral position is available in the Chuang laboratory in the Division of Developmental Biology at Cincinnati Children’s Hospital Research Foundation beginning in December. We are interested in understanding the molecular mechanisms by which functional neural circuits are assembled, using the small roundworm Caenorhabditis elegans as an experimental organism. The lab uses a multidisciplinary approach that integrates genetics, molecular biology, cell biology, biochemistry, electrophysiology and imaging to address this question. To learn more about the lab, please visit http://www.cincinnatichildrens.org/research/div/dev-biology/fac-labs/chuang/
This position involves the study of cell-cell communication and signaling events that specifies neuronal diversity. Prior experience in C. elegans is helpful but not a prerequisite. Applicants should have a Ph.D. degree (less than two years) in genetics, cell biology, molecular biology, neurobiology, biochemistry or similar with experience in molecular biology techniques.
Please apply for this position by submitting an on-line application for Position 53759 at: http://www.cincinnatichildrens.org/careers/apply/default.htm. Please attach your CV and a description of your research and also include contact information for three references.
