The laboratory of Dr. Abhijit Patel, MD, PhD in the Yale University School of Medicine is seeking to hire a postdoctoral fellow to work on a project that aims to develop and validate a new method for measuring the level of tumor-derived DNA in the blood as a biomarker for monitoring cancer treatment efficacy and for early detection. Although the primary goal will be to develop a DNA-based biomarker for ovarian cancer, the approach is more broadly applicable to other types of cancer as well.
The candidate should have a background in molecular biology, and preferably an interest in nucleic acid biochemistry. Since the laboratory is focused on the development of new methods, an aptitude for innovative thinking is imperative.
