Research Associate
Post-doc position for a T cell immunologist on a major international collaborative project funded by U.S NIH-NIAID
Salary Range: £26,860 – £38,070 per annum
We would like to appoint a highly self-motivated and adaptable post-doctoral Research Associate to work in the Infectious Diseases and Immunity Section within the Department of Medicine at the Hammersmith campus.
You will work with Professor Danny Altmann and Dr Rosemary Boyton on a major international collaborative project funded by U.S. National Institute of Health. The research project focuses on a large scale, patient and HLA transgenic model based analysis of T cell immunity to Burkholderia, the causative agent in melioidosis. This is the major cause of ITU admission of sepsis in South East Asia. The project is a close collaboration with colleagues in LSHTM, Newcastle, France and NE Thailand.
You will have a PhD in a relevant area, and should ideally have experience of recombinant protein biochemistry, T cell assays, flow cytometry and have a Home Office Licence.
This full-time post is available until 29 September 2011, then renewable on a yearly basis until 29 September 2014.
