Assistant professor/Associate professor (tenure-track) positions in Industrial and Systems Engineering and Management Science and Engineering

THE OPPORTUNITY:

The Sino-US Global Logistics Institute (SUGLI) in Shanghai Jiao Tong University invites applications from outstanding candidates for tenure-track assistant professor/ associate professor, or postdoctoral fellow in the following areas:

Modern logistics and supply chain;

Operational management in intelligent manufacturing;

Operational management in healthcare system or medical decision making

Big Data and data analytics in manufacturing and service;

RESPONSIILITIES:

It is expected that the successful candidates will, in collaboration with current faculty, play an important role in high level theoretical research and solving the major applied problems in domains of engineering system management and logistics and supply chain management. Candidates are expected to teach graduate courses, engage in research, and participate in the academic/social activities of the University.

QUALIFICATIONS:

Required:

Applicants must have Ph. D in industrial and system engineering, management science and engineering, or a related field by the time of hire/offer, show a record of accomplishments that demonstrates the potential to become an outstanding scholar and educator, possess a record of accomplishments demonstrating outstanding scholarly and educational activities, and excellent communication skills. Assistant/associate level candidates must demonstrate remarkable scientific contributions and strong research capability, evidenced by excellent publication record on top or high quality peer-reviewed international journals.

Preferred:

For the positions of Assistant/Associate Professor, it is preferred for the applicants to have previous teaching and/or post-doctoral experience in world-class University. Understanding of the Chinese language and culture is highly valued.

SUGLI always aims at studying innovative theoretical research topics, building new platforms and promoting high-level applications in the field of logistics and supply chain management. In the new era, SUGLI is to be expanded into a broader field of engineering systems management, including smart logistics and supply chain management, intelligent manufacturing management and manufacturing servitization (including intelligent manufacturing logistics), intelligent service management & engineering, health care system optimization, big data analysis of engineering system and intelligent decision-making.
